In 2013, brothers Etienne and Frédéric Morin-Bordeleau set up MR-63, a charitable organization designed to stimulate public interest in Canadian culture. This building, in the heart of Griffintown, will be carbon-neutral and will be built while retaining the Montreal metro cars. It will be a place for people to meet and share ideas by promoting inclusion through an embassy of creativity.

In 2018 and 2019, in order to bring the MR-63 experience to life, they held the F-MR Station and then MR-63 Phase 1, two ephemeral spaces that have enjoyed very positive reviews. Thanks to these first iterations, they have demonstrated that their project has a strong impact, is viable and attracts large crowds.

To do so, MR-63 consulted experts, particularly in sustainable development, from the academic and business communities whose mandate is to guide the choices made by MR-63 in its process and construction. The experts’ recommendations are intended to position the project’s purpose as an example of success in terms of sustainable development and territorial inclusiveness.
